How To Meet A Nintendo Fanatic Online Friend In IRL

By Claudine Hodges

As a gamer, it is only natural to be active in on-line groups that deal with the types of online game that you love. This is the place where you get to meet a lot of people who have the same likes as you. It is also a place where you can speak about the same topics without running out of things to say to those individuals who are similar to you.

Nowadays, there are a lot of groups online that are catering to those who are into gaming and stuff. It should not be a difficult task for you to find other Nintendo fanatic through these groups. You can then find more friends than you can imagine. Through these groups, you can talk about games that you are too familiar with.

When you have been in this group for a long time, it will be high time for you to be invited for an IRL meeting. The said meeting is when you will meet up with those friends you made in the Internet. To those who are asked to attend the said meeting, here are a few of the tips that you should take into consideration.

First, you got to know first where the meet up is before you say okay. This is so that you can decline if the place is not a safe one for you. If possible, you must only agree to attend a meeting if the said venue is at a public place. A good example of a public place you can host a meeting at is a local restaurant.

Bring a friend with you. Of course, you have to bring someone who will not ruin the mood when you are meeting up with the online friends you have made. This is a preemptive strike against any bad intentions that this online friend turned predator might have on you.

Of course, it is only normal to expect your online friend to not be creepy. These friends will also expect you to not be creepy. That is why, you should learn to wrap up the creepiness. Basically, you just have to watch your manner and avoid giving off an impression that you are a creepy person.

Listen to your instincts. If you think that someone is creepy while you are talking with him or her online, then there is a big chance that this person might be creepy in real life too. If they have asked you to meet up in real life, you should say no. There is no need to worry about offending them since they do not know you.

Do your research first before you agree to meeting others online in real life or before you go to the meeting. It will help you determine whether it is really okay or not to meet up with this person. The things you learn about the said person will also help you start a conversation during this meeting.

Be wary of what you talk about the said friends you meet up in this meeting. Your personal issues should be left at home. You should only share the things that are okay to share with those friends you have met for the first time. You have to protect your own privacy as well.
